it seemed that i have disappeared after mentioning about cleaning up/organising stuff in my last post 😛 well, i did some clean up etc, though it did not take me THAT long! i
have been terribly busy just haven’t been diligent enough to update that’s all…
well, on the same note on organising and cleaning, i made an over-the-door hanging storage for lil j. we ended up using it as a mini library as he calls it. i guess might as well. most of his books are in his room in one of the shelves, but he doesn’t spend too much time other than sleeping in his room. so, rather than having the books just sitting on the table, he happily put them in this new storage. i guessed he did it because of the fabric i used…
i used calico for the main piece, and MM's dick and jane's fabric for the pockets. lil j is really fond of the letter 'g', he spends a considerable amount of time daily hunting for 'g'' from the fabric. the bottom pocket was done to 'redeem' my mistake made with his dinosaurs' bag - this one has the opening at the top to make sure the toys are stored as they should be!
this is one of lil j's fav books - reading makes you feel good. he was pointing to one of the letter g's which he spotted when i took this pic.
in the mean time, i have been busy sewing up other stuff as well, but updating has to come slightly later – the lil one has just awaken… ahhh….
For I know the plans I have for you, “declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11-13
it’s funny how i seemed to have forgotten about this car caddy/organizer (i really think my brain is shrinking lots, drastically). i made this on the second day after i got my sewing machine – using this tutorial, and it has been in our car since.
we were out in the park for a play date with one of lil j’s friends today and when i opened the car door to get lil j out, his friend pointed to the caddy and went rhhgg… uurrghh.. (i am still trying to figure out what he was trying to say to me). that’s when i realised i had wanted to take a picture to blog about it but have not done so. ok, actually i did take a photo when i first put it up – without stuff in it, which is the picture below. the caddy has been filled with books, toy cars, lil j’s sunnies, sun block lotion, and a teddy ever since (an occasionally dinosaurs these days). oh, and the mirror is there for him to make silly faces and funny faces when he is bored 😛
i used the same fabric as lil j's apron and chef hat for this caddy - only because these were the first fabrics i ever purchased! this picture was taken before we fill it up with lil j's stuff, safe for that pair of gloves.
“All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.” Luke 10:22
can i just let the pictures do the talking for this post?
this new toy storage greeted lil j when he woke up from his nap today. i tried my best to make that look like a dinosaur or at least a dragon, but he screamed in delight *frog!* when he first saw it, and proceeded to check it out.
see those sharp teeth? frogs don't have such teeth!
then he decided to do this 😛 this bag was made for his new dino toys given by a cousin. i used 2 FQ and cut up some felt to make the frog aka dino, cut a hole on the fabric and apply bias tape. there is also a zipper on the top, in case the dino toys grow bigger 😉 i made a HUGE mistake actually, the frog aka dino was positioned way too low, so the toys couldn't travel 'down' after being swallowed up. errmm.. maybe lil j won't notice 😉
