the name of the dress given by lil j. i love how creative he is. and how he sees things and imagine all kind of things. i love how chatty he is (although some days i feel so tired listening and talking to him) and i especially love how he enjoys making lil k laugh.
and so when i made this dress for lil k, he told me it looked nice (he is ever so generous with compliments) and that it looked like a fairy dress. when i put it on lil k, he said she has turned into a fairy with wings. i liked that, so this dress is now called lil k’s fairy dress.
the tie was originally made to be worn in the front but lil k loves pulling it off, so i reversed it to the back and that was when lil j said they look like fairy wings.
i’ve made this dress a little long with the hope that lil k will wear it for a long time. i am sure when she’s grown taller, this dress can be turned into a top, matched with leggings or tights. and perhaps, when she stop pulling the tie, the fairy wings can grow in the front 🙂
All your children will be taught by the Lord, and great will be their peace. Isaiah 54:13
i think most sewers would make a pillow case dress (or two) at some point of time. or at least that’s what i’ve gathered from the many blogs i’ve seen. and naturally, i have to make one myself, no?
well, i do have some pillow cases lying around. (they come in the sets from lil j’s cot sheets but he doesn’t use a pillow). and i have not sewn any pillow case dress so far. so, i think it’s time to bite the dust…
minimal work done on this pillow case (bought the whole sheet sets for only $6). a little ribbon embellishment and binding on the armholes. i think it turned out kind of lovely.
Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like starts in the universe Philippians 2:14-15
