slumber time

i saw this cozy sleeping bag some time ago in a baby’s expo.  lovely.. (although, i must admit, muslin is, to me, cloth nappy.  at least that’s what my family and friends been using for generations.)  it is a real clever idea for aden+anais to use this extremely breathable material for their swaddles and sleeping bags.

i did not think of making one for lil j initially, but as the weather warms up and he still refused to sleep without a sleeping bag, i knew i had to do something about it.  but the price tags on the aden+anais bags are just not appealing to me.. so i picked up a meter of muslin from spotlight, and ended up with one for lil j (of course costing much less, and made me sew happy for accomplishing another project)

lil j calls this his "pterodactyl sleep bag" even though the dinos were not the same species. he has been reading too much of Harry and the Dinosaurs. now he gets to wear his sleeping bag still despite the warmer weather, so i supposed that makes him happy. i actually made some wipe cloths from the odds and ends of the muslin, and lil j is extremely delighted about it! how appreciative the lil lad is!

making things for the little one really brightens my days!

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.  Romans 1:20
