playsuit/dungarees/overalls for a little new bundle of joy

ahh.. this must be a dungarees week!

after having made one for little annabelle here , i have whipped out a boy’s version!  this time it’s for baby caleb, who is just a little over a few weeks old (but i made this suit bigger – approx. size 6mth).  i have been wanting to make something out of this jaunty fabric, and what better design than a classic “workwear” overalls for a little boy!

i’ve managed to minimise silly mistakes (except that i still cut/stitch one piece of the waist band upside down, duh, and never realised until after having pieced everything together – again!).  the most ‘costly’ mistake this time was a tear from cutting the button hole with my seam ripper.. ahhh!!!  (blame it on the flu medicine, and the fact that it was already past midnight when i was putting the final touches) i had to patch up the little defects with some hand sewing, but thankfully, it was quite a small tear.

well, i am loving these dungarees so much, i am planning and hoping to make a few more to sell online.  (i received my ‘first’ ever order few weeks ago for a handmade fabric book for a little boy for christmas – i know, christmas is still a long way to go, but a very kind, lovely friend wanted to encourage me and give me ample time to make something special for her nephew.  and did i mention that i have not done any fabric activity book so far?)

a classic and simple playsuit, topstitched for durability

accented with pockets on the bib, and another little coin pocket on the pants, matched with vintage wooden buttons - little one will stay comfortable all day long in this suit.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  Philippians 4:6
