my take on the very biased skirt

i did it! i did it!  no big dill’s very biased skirt!  yay!!!

i saw the tutorial some time ago, and been wanting to make it.  and since my niece’s birthday is coming up, i thought it would be a perfect skirt to make (she is turning 9 soon) i used light cotton and opted not to go for those nice sheers.  let’s just say my niece is a little ermm… “active” so a more durable material will do better 😉  i used the same fabric as the one i used to make lil j’s duffle bag – i love the motif – kites and balloons… things that go… so free spirited…

the result?? not too bad i guess.  well, i actually like it very much.  and i especially liked that i do not have to apply finishing technique for the edges…

my version of no big dill's biased skirt. i made the a-line skirt with batiste lawn, and inserted elastic on the back of the skirt, just as in the original tutorial.

this is one skirt i’ll probably attempt again in the future, hopefully with organza or some sheer materials…
