new petticoat to match my boots

yippie! i finally bought a pair of knee length boots.  then i saw this tutorial.  and i knew i just had to make a skirt/petticoat like that for myself!  so i did.

i made the skirt from an old blouse which has a big tear on one of the sleeves (and beyond repair).  i love the material because it was really soft and stretchy.  so i cut the top off, and made an elastic casing for the waist.  it was not long enough, so i lengthen it with some muslin.  as for the ruffles, i hem the edges of each one, and then i just sew them on to the skirt.  easy-peasy lemon-squeezy (i learnt this phrase from reading ‘charlie and lola’ to lil j!  and i love it!

my new skirt and new boots 🙂

Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house.  Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.  Malachi 3:10
